What is Funded Childcare and Who Can Get It?

15 Hours Free Childcare (Universal Offer & Additional Support for Some Families)

For all 3 & 4-year-olds – Every child is entitled to 15 hours of free nursery education per week, starting the term after their third birthday.
Play and LearnFor eligible 2-year-olds – Some children are eligible if their family is receiving additional financial support, the child is identified as having a Special Educational Need, the child is Looked After or the child is in receipt of Disability Living Allowance.
From 9 months – Some working families will be eligible for 15 hours funding from the term after the child turns 9-months up until school age.

30 Hours Free Childcare (For Working Parents)

For working parents of 3 & 4-year-olds – If both parents (or the sole parent in a single-parent household) work at least 16 hours per week and earn less than £100,000 per year, your child could get 30 hours of free childcare per week.

Upcoming Changes – Expanding to Younger Children

The government is expanding the scheme so more families can benefit:
